how do you like me now...

419 after the facelift

1. view of front door from end of front entry hall
2. view of front entry hall from front door {ignore me please!}
3. view of hallway from end of entry hall
4. view towards front entry hall from bathroom

Things to note

* a little bit of bling for the hallway lighting
* the 2010 designer paint colours {ha kidding people...}

* the beautiful and large hall closet, seen in #3 {now on the wall around the corner}
* matchy-matchy front and bathroom doors {love}
* more space to move, thanks to the opening of the wall
* the original hardwood floor shines just a little bit brighter {and darker}

And let me tell you -
husband did it all {and grandpa helped too}

well done!

remember when...

Your entry way looked like this 419?!

1. view of front door from end of front entry hall
2. view of front entry hall from front door
3. view of hallway from end of entry hall {and a little bit of bathroom}
4. view towards front entry hall from bathroom

Things that needed to go {immediately}

* what we {again, we = Ms.Moth and us} refer to as the nipple lamp, seen in #1
* the overbearing "2006 designer colour" of army green paint {yep, that was a selling feature right there}
* the dingy-yellow paint on the trim {also a 2006 designer colour, of course}

* the tiny hall closet, seen in #2 {can that even be classified as a closet at that size??}
* all the gold hardware and handles on doors
* one of the walls that boxes in the entryway
* the generic big-box store front door
* the orange stained floors {not that we mind light floors, but orange?!}

And so husband went to work...

lucky girl...

Husband got 'er done!
{good boy yay me!}

Rhino here was picked up on a girls trip to TO

g is for...

Grayson Willis of course!
Very excited to get this bad boy in the mail thursday!
It's a print by Charlene Serdan ordered from
our favourite gallery in Canada, Canvas
{we = Ms.Moth and us!}.

It will make a great addition to the growing collection of G's in Gray's room
{and hopefully installed tomorrow - right husband?!? *bat eyelashes here*}.
Speaking of Gour time's up.
Off we go to care for a once again upset, sick, teething baby...
{maybe some fresh air will do the trick}.

Ok, back from the walk, and no, it didn't.
 Still crying and still not a happy camper.
But that's my cue to go start the BBQ and avoid any parenting for the moment
 {sorry Sas *bat eyelashes here - wink wink*}.

Erg.

sweaty palms...

This is it...the time we've been waiting for
{well more like working for}.

This Rod the realtor! {Hi Rod!!}
{find him here}

He's coming over to 419 to give us his verdict.
anxiety!!!
{appropriately summed up in my "sweaty palms" discription}
Can everyone come hold my hand?!

Oh wife, how you always worry.
{husband here, been instructed to write in a different colour}
We've put almost 4 years into working on this house,
we've learned so much and had so much fun.

{ha! someone clearly forgets the tears and frustration had too!}

The anxiety should be giving way to pure, unadulterated excitement!
{or maybe thats just the vietnamese we had for dinner, yumm!}
Looking forward to hearing from you Rod!

We'll keep you posted...

so here we are...

This is where we are today!!
{ignore the snow - it doesn't stop here}
so close to being done ~ after four long years...
just a little more cleaning and organizing {does that ever really end?!}
 and we can call the realtor in.
We've come a loooong way 419!
You didn't always look so debonaire did you??

Let me refresh your memory...
ooooh ouch - that's embarrassing!
But we saw your potential and helped you out of that rough patch
{you're even more beautiful on the inside}.

starting somewhere...

Alrighty, here we go...first post!
{taken by the best peeps ever}

Hubby and I {although he doesn't know his role yet} created this blog to keep our family and friends
 {new and old, near and far} updated with what we do best...
making babies renovating houses.

Ok well a little about that baby...we DID do a pretty good job!
And renovating is crazy enough, throw a baby into the mix
{oh, and add two full time jobs plus some school...awesome!}
and it's no wonder we can't remember yesterday!

So Mr.Blog, you are now given the huge task of helping us remember AND helping us tell the world {which most likely isn't interested, but we know some of you are watching}.
